I am back

I haven't come here since the middle of the last month.

Guess where I went? Home!! Holy Cow! I spend 1900 CAN dollars for the flight tickets. That's around 10000 RMB Yuan. Had to hate the high seasons!!

Eventually I gave up my plan of buying a laptop. Now I own one. It's manufactured from IBM. This laptop isn't very new. In fact, one of the keys on the keyboard was torn off by my dearest niece. Of course, she didn't do it on purpose... Or did she????

She is now just one year old. How could I blame her. Right, I am someone's UNCLE now~~ Hoohoo~~~

Anyway, the laptop was 2 year old, and its feature isn't very impressing... Just like the 4 year old desktop I am using. Centrino CPU(don't remember what GHz), 256 MB RAM, DVD reader/CD writer combo, 40GB harddisc.

It's far incapable than any laptop I was intended to purchase. But still, it's a free gift from my family(My dad gave it to my sis, and my sis gave it to me).

So that's about my new used laptop.

This summer I stayed in Shenzhen for just 2 weeks. And I had my best time of the year(except the fact that my family was worried about my overweighted body). I went out with 2 of my best friends, Fie Xu and Minheng Wang. See, I don't have too many closed friends. But I wouldn't reject that I would love to see some other friends if I had planty of time.

The reason I came back so soon is that my grad school is about to open, and it was very diffcult to book a flight just before my school begins. Besides, I would miss 9 hours of classes if I don't come back in the first week of the school.

While I was at home (Shenzhen), my mom gave me a purchasing card for a bookstore called Book City. The card has 1000 RMB in value. Thus, I bought 3 netwoking books (for the CCNA course) and some studying instruments (pens, notebooks, and a school bag). Also I met my cousin coincidently at the Booktown, and I spent the rest money on the card to buy him some economy's books.

Buying a book is so common in China for 2 reasons. People in China love to read books, any book, really. Some for their own interests, and some for their promotion of the workplace. Any typical family in the city has a pile of books on bookshelve(s), and some even has a bookroom--a room just for storing and reading books. The other reason is books in China is so inexpensive. Like I said, I bought 3 networking books, each of which comes with a CD and was sold for just 50-60RMB (less than 10 US dollars). These books aren't on clearance sale, and that's important. Although the paper quality of these book is no better than books sold in North America, each page is clean and the words were clearly printed. Compare by the prices, the same kind of books would be sold for more than 100 CAN dollars!! Students, you know what I am talking about!!

Phew~~~
